Sometimes it just stinks to be nice:)

Post by TX50Cal »

My buddy at work has been thinking about getting a Marlin 1895 Cowboy 45-70 for a while now. we had a new one in the shop that he was thinking about getting when he saved enough money. I went to a gunshop yesterday that I hadn't been to in a while and what did I spy? An excellent condition 1895 CB 45-70. Bluing was great and only a couple of small dings in the stock. Price? $389. I called my buddy and talked to him and the dealer at the same time and got it down to $370 OTD. What a deal, I should have got it for myself but I knew he really wanted one. He went there and bought it today. Sometimes it really stinks to be such a nice guy

Yeah,
But when I shave in the morning, there are no arguments with the ugly guy in the mirror.

Dave,

It's what a friend does. Especially when it's a brother in arms. "Good on ya" as they say down under!

A good deed will be returned in other ways. And the way I see it is that you can borrow the gun and get all of the use out of it you want without payin' nothin'. :D -------------Sixgun

Wish I had a dollar for every gun I sold at a greatly reduced price to a friend. Seems like every time I get ready to put one up for sale a friend asks, "What would you sell it to me for?"
Then I end up selling it for less than I planned, knowing it's going to a good home. Of couse, I get repaid occasionally when they are ready to part with one too! :D
