Has anyone heard from Stonefence?
I've been trying to contact Dave. He was going to ship me some bullets, but... I hope all is well!

Sincerely,
Hobie

Maybe he's trying to get the lead out.

Re: Has anyone heard from Stonefence?
I heard from him three weeks ago via email. He'd sent me part of my order and said he's waiting on jackets for the rest of it. It sounds like he's busy with his new enterprise and unfortunately having the same problems as a lot of other component makers as to supply of materials. I imagine since the reputation of his bullets has been spread all over the world via the net, he's buried in orders.
It's always been worth the wait for me and I was actually a little surprised when part of it showed up. I'd told him there was no rush on my order when I sent it.

Re: Has anyone heard from Stonefence?
I'm here guys. Just been very busy-- got laid off from my day job end of May, had to take a night job with 12 hour shifts to keep the bills paid, and wind up having to sleep most of my 3 off days, which sucks.
Looks like the bullet biz is going to have to down-shift into the hobby zone again. I don't have enough spare time to make enough bullets to make any money, and with copper and lead so high, my margin per bullet all goes to the tax man (11% fed excise tax on bullets, 13% FICA, income tax at my regular personal rate, state of FL biz lic. fee annually, city of St. Pete biz lic. annual fee, etc ...you get the picture) and my tax accountant ($250 per pop and I have to see him at least 2-3 times per year). All in all, it ain't worth it being in the custom bullet biz. You'd have to be totally mechanized to do enough volume, and then it wouldn't be "custom" now would it?
Now I am thinking about making .378 and .375 'fishing sinkers' on a cash basis. But still can't even turn out more than a few thousand of those per year.........

PS-Hobie got some bullets coming your way in tomorrow's mail.
