I visited our local shop and spoke directly with the Owner. He agreed to sell me a NEW Henry 30-30 with blued features including tax for $525.00. When I asked if he would accept lay away payments of $55. per month, he agreed to these terms as well! I'll be the proud owner of a NEW Henry in less than a year!!!
Henry's brass model is very handsome but the glare would certainly spook mulies where we hunt. Nope, I'm NOT a collector - just a hunter who is insanely attracted to leverguns.
Coming up with $525. all at once without deducting from savings is impossible for me (us). This is a very nice way to pay for the carbine over time without hurting my family at all. Thank you Lord Jesus!

I have seen the OLD brass-framed guns take on a duller patina that wouldn't be nearly as bad on game, but then again isn't as shiny-pretty. I also really prefer the blue, or if I want to put up with 'shiny' then I'll sometimes just go all the way and get stainless.

Congratulations! My Henry .357 is a fine shooting gun. I'm sure you will love your 30-30.
