OT - 2 years since my sons passing

Post by homefront »

Time marches on.
It's 2 years now since my son Chas was taken by God.
Learning to live with what's happened is a full time task.
We miss him terribly - his mom and sister, his church family, all his many wonderful friends.

The last thing we did together was some target shooting with my .41 Blackhawk. Meant to be his, one day.

You don't truly want the answers to life's questions until you are faced with so deep a loss.

Here's my Chas, with his friend Angee. Obviously, two happy friends:

I love you, and I miss you, son.

My friend, We have talked of this loss before. You are never out of my prayers. I hope the happiness he had in life, will, in time, fill the void of the loss you now feel. I can't imagine the loss of a son. We all would rather it be us then them. Too often the good in us is taken way far too early by our reckoning. We don't often, nor can we ever, understand the ways of God. We are so finite in our understanding. Know though, that your son has attained his eternal form in the throne room of God and one day, the reunion of Spirit will be complete and eternity will be spent with the company of all the saints, your son included. I pray for peace and comfort and strength and wisdom to endure this unbareable loss. I, and I am sure many others, are here for you and your support when ever you need it. Blessings.

Homefront,

I have thought and prayed for you often these last 2 years....you have gone through something that most of us can only imagine. It has probably seemed an eternity already, but soon you and your son will be together again. Hold fast friend!

Having experienced the loss of parents, grandparents, and close friends, I know how much those losses can hurt, but I can't even imagine the pain involved in losing a child or grandchild. You truly have my sincerest sympathy.

As a newer poster here I did not know of your loss but can feel your pain, fathers are fathers and as you loved yours I love mine. So, from one father to another, "Bless You and Your Family".

It is never easy to bear when it is in the 'wrong order' - parents should NEVER have to bury their kids. Prayers for your family.

You have my sympathy and prayers.

The most trying heart ache I could imagine is having to bury my child whos life was so short lived.

You men are a comfort to me.
I haven't visited much, due to a lack of interest or motivation to do a lot of the things that used to keep me busy.
Thank you all.

Because there really are no words to describe the pain that your family endures losing your precious boy. Really all we can do is pray for him, and pray that your family does find some type of peace from time to time trying to go through life while coping with this. :(
God be with you guys!

The loss of a child, I can't imagine. I can relate to the loss of a brother, but not one of my children. I remember when this was first posted and can't believe it's been that long. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I lost my first wife over 29 years ago and still there are days that it brings back bad feelings. We lost a teenager last year also and there are days when something goes on to remind us of her. Life is not fair and seems downright cruel at times but there is order we just have to figure out what it is.

Prayers for you, your family members, his friends and especially for Chas.

I too remember your original post...

Sure is heartwarming that many of his did remember him, and thought enough to share our comments with you.

Be well friend.
