I'm sure that this has been done before but I just can't get enough of fine sixguns and leather. Here is my temporary setup I use when loafing about the woods or when hunting. I hope to get something with more style as and pinash as soon as funds allow. Until then this will make due. I've shown mine

now lets see yours.

OS, I have a canvas and leather, looped .357 gunbelt that goes with that holster if your interested.

Dont have a more recent pic as I no longer have the Ruger Bisley.

And yes I wear that rig when out hunting. its just poking out from under my jacket.

Actually, I've yet to find the most practical holster for chores and farm use. I guess I want a holster that is:

- rainproof
- not going to make me sad if I get paint or pruning sealer on it
- doesn't need a separate belt
- doesn't have to be threaded onto a pants belt
- doesn't let the muzzle get in the dirt if I sit on the ground
- doesn't flop around if I'm climbing or throwing brush
- allows me to carry a SA revolver chambered in something which won't make me deaf if I shoot it

So far, it's the ugly little Fobus that comes closest; but my three only fit my 1911 AMT, a SP101, or a 9-shot .22LR Taurus. Usually I carry the Taurus, but that I can just slip in my jeans pocket anyway, so what then? Maybe a Fobus or other 'pancake' design for the .357 Blackhawk...?

RJ - only sixgun I have that fits it is a 44. I have another holster for a 357 but not the one I want yet - how much for the belt - pics???

That is some SA you have - things must be gettin' dangerous in PA.

Think I have posted this before but I just love shootin and carryin this set. I cast 200 swc, load with Unique. Have some CCI shot shells too for woodswalkin, which I will be doin in about 2 weeks.

Here is a general one that works for a few guns. It started as a Hunter 4500 but I modified it.

Bianchi 7500 paddle holster for the three you got. They are much better than the Fobus. Not sure of the Taurus for fit.

They meet all your criteria except they don't make it for the blackhawk or any SA revolvers for that matter and I don't know why. They would be great, if non traditional. As paddles go they are best I've used, comfortable and they stay in place pretty well. I used one for my EAA Witness for years. Had one of the 7000s too(belt slide), gave it to my brother after I sold the Witness. He uses it with his Beretta 40.

Use a CarryLok for my Taurus PT1911 when not on duty. I really like it, but again, they don't do SA with it either.

AJMD429, I find that I carry my Ruger 32 H&R the most . Shooting 32 S&W loads out of it is easy on the ears. It is also small and light with the 4 3/4 barrel and the same frame as the 22 single six.

The baby vaquaro has a smaller grip that lets my pinky fit under it nicely when shooting

Thanks to the folks who posted ideas for 'chore' carry rigs. Gives me some ideas.

Mebbe I'll even take an old SA revolver holster and make my OWN "paddle" holster out of it.

The one from SimplyRugged is for a S&W 21-4 CCH and I've added a knife and sheath (will get a pic soon).

Then I made one for the Iver Johnson, but it's an eightgun not a sixgun.

No, both are .44 WCF Frontier Six Shooters. I have owned .38 WCF SAs and a '73 Winchester SRC in past years, but traded them off.

Here's another one - the last holster I bought - for my new Ruger flat top - its not a high dollar rig but I like it!

My favorite maker is El Passo Sadlery - I've got several of their holsters and another on order for my Ruger 22/45 which is hard to find stock holsters for - Ruger doesn't even stock one on their on-line store.

Some of you fellows are posting some very nice photos indeed. Here is a photo of a belt I used to have, along with the slim jim holster for my old S&W 2nd Model American sixgun with an 8" barrel (44 Russian caliber). The other sixgun and holster have been sold with the belt. I wear the slim jim in a cross draw position, finding it more comfortable for sitting, standing, and just about any other position. Perhaps a little known fact, discovered in the wilderness by myself, is that the front cross draw position is ideal for when nature calls. In the squatting position, it tends to sit right in on top of ones knees, just in case a passing Cougar surprises you. I also have a Colt SAA first gen that I need to get a holster for. My current belt, which I really like, has loops for both sixgun and rifle cartridges. It is in the second photo below. For that belt, I have to wear it with the buckle on the right in order to put the holster in the cross draw position.

I didn't have any family pics of my guns so I ran out and snapped a few real quick tonight. While nothing fancy these rigs serve me well. The darker holsters were purchased at the same time from a gun show table with hopes they might fit the Single Six. I didn't have the gun with me at the time and I didn't even own the Security Six at the time. Cost was $5 each. The flap holster came with the gun when it was handed down to me from gramps. It was my great uncles carry rig when out screwin around in the deserts of Nevada. Pictured is the "hand serial numbered" H&R 949, my Security Six and my new replacement .32M Single Six. On top rides my Win94AE that now sports a crisp 4.5 lbs trigger after some polishing and springs.
