Lyman 56 Receiver Sight

Post by tribex »

Looking for advice on purchasing a Lyman 56 sight. Gunsamerica has a listing on one with "minor wear" for $200.00. I've just started looking and wondered if that was a decent price. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know if that's a good price in todays market. The most I've paid for one was $125 for one that was like new, but that was about 5 or 6 years ago. Otherwise I've paid between $30 to $80 for mine. I like them much more than later offerings. Much more character and style.

If you arent in a hurry, I seem to find them on tables at gun shows, sometimes in parts boxes under the table. One was missning some small parts, I got it for $20. I searched 2 years before finding the missing parts. They were in a box of odd parts,...from the same guy.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

Call Ken Bean, the antique sight dealer. I'm guessing about what Malamute paid for his, maybe a little more----717-755-9070

I happily shelled out $150 for a ANIB 56 late last year. :)

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll take my time and see if I can come across a one at a decent price.
