I'm well covered in .44mag with a 629pp and the litte shorty SBH that hasn't got here yet, and the old 1894 microgroove model.
I have a Stainless Centennial .357 which is carried lots and not shot too much and blazer 158gr JHP works just great in it. I have a Ruger 50th Aniversary BH that I'm not real happy with and will send on it's way someday after I can get it to lock up
Anyway, I'm very enamored of this new 1894 in 32-20, would like to get a little shorty 32-20 RBH convertable (.32 H&Rmag - 32-20) if I can find one......
So, do I need the .357? Maybe not.....Should I keep them around just because the ammo is easy to find and that might be important someday?
Will Steve marry April? Will Andria find happiness without Steve?

I think .44 Mag and modern-material .32-20 (or .327 Fed) would cover the bases. Throw in a .444 Marlin for bears and a .44 LR for feral tin cans and cats, and you've got it all covered!

The only handguns I have are .38 Smith and Wesson Special or .22LR.
That's all I need. You can't kill anything within 25-yards with yer .44 Magnum or .357 Magnum that I can't kill with my 158gr Jacketed SP or HP .38 Special +P. You can argue all you want that that's just no so but you'll just be talking to the wind.
If I had a .357 Mag or a .44 Mag, I might keep them but I doubt it. I've had a bunch of .357 Mags and .44 Mags but I always end up gettting rid of em and sticking with my .38 Specials.

Hey, make a separate thread on that one, ok? That should get lively in no time at all

Blaine,
Your 1000 Laser Cast 32-20 bullets will ship tomorrow. You'll have them probably by Monday.
Contact JNYORK about Lil Gun loads. Jerry has accurate load data, for the 1894CL.
I have 2400 load data if you want it and it does work pretty well.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
I'm getting excited to start shooting this one...... I've got some Blue Dot ideas, too. I'm going to start asking about good dies for lead, now.....I want a good crimp.

I expect you are going to have a boatload of fun with the lil darlin. I have sure pondered getting something (or two) in that caliber over the years. I am however, heavily vested with 38/357 odds and ends. Don't regret that much as it is working well for my needs.
I look foreward to seeing some posts with your smiley face sooted up from some glorious hours of burning powder.
Ed Harris had some good articles on the 32-20 and his "rook" rifle if you have not found them yet.

I keep a .357 around for women and kids to play with.
