Now that is a new one here. KirkD hunts them with old winchesters and you never quite know what Nath is going to use.

PH,
Well done. I use Ground Hogs to keep my .54 cal in tune during the off season. That is, either the .54 Cal or my longbow. Great fun all around. Nice shirt. I love to hunt in traditional gear too.

Re: Flintlock Hog
Is was about a 40 or 50 yards shot, i hit him good but he got into his hole and was dying as he went down, i grabbed him and pulled him out, yes no lie, and i hit him in the head with the butt end of my hatchet, it was 90 grains of 2f i believe and a jacketed sabot, i aint got roundballs shootin well enough yet with a consistent pattern that ill hunt them. thats a tough hog because thats my deer setup.

If it shoots sabot and bullets then it may have to much twist for a ball.PrimitiveHunter wrote:Is was about a 40 or 50 yards shot, i hit him good but he got into his hole and was dying as he went down, i grabbed him and pulled him out, yes no lie, and i hit him in the head with the butt end of my hatchet, it was 90 grains of 2f i believe and a jacketed sabot, i aint got roundballs shootin well enough yet with a consistent pattern that ill hunt them. thats a tough hog because thats my deer setup.
