Found the PERFECT mate......
.........for my Rossi 92 357 mag. Been watching 357 Blackhawks sell on Gunbroker and looking for one locally for a while. There's been an Old Model at a local shop for a couple months, but they were $100-150 too high on it and wouldn't budge. As luck would have it, I spotted this old three screw in a classified ad elsewhere and it was only a couple hours away so there would be no shipping or FFL fees. To seal the deal, the serial number indicates this one has the same date of manufacture as me, 1970, so I figured this was the one. Still trying to figure out how to talk mamma into going to the range on Mother's Day.
Might have to wait till next week to shoot it though.

My one and only load for the Rossi is a 180 gr. cast bullet with 16.0 gr. of LilGun. Think I will try that out in the Ruger first and see how it likes it. My other 357 revolver likes the 158 gr. Hornady XTP with a max charge of VhitaVuori N-110. Probably try that one in the Ruger as well.

Re: Found the PERFECT mate......
Excellent. I love the OM Rugers. They just feel and sound right!
You did well for a youngin (bragging about not hitting the big 4-0 yet - I caught that!
). What kind of grips is she sporting?
Re: Found the PERFECT mate......
I'm not sure what the grips are YK. I doubt they are real stag, but they do have a thin layer of walnut on the inside. They are a little fat for my liking, so I'm on the lookout for a set of factory Ruger grips.

Re: Found the PERFECT mate......
If you decide to replace them and want to sell them, drop me a pm. I've been looking for a replacement set for my OM Blackhawk and haven't found the set I want yet. I have long fingers, so a fat set probably will work for me!
Re: Found the PERFECT mate......
good catch.
now for leather.
i like the grips also, don't want to step on yks deal though.
i have some factory grips i might trade.
best to you, pokey

I'll probably keep the grips even if I buy some walnut grips. I do like the looks of these, just not how they feel in my hands. Heck, I should probably just go shoot it and may like them after all.

You may be surprised. If you figure out where they came from let me know - they do look sharp!TedH wrote:I'll probably keep the grips even if I buy some walnut grips. Good luck - and congratulations again!

I might take them off and post a couple pics to see if anyone here can ID them.
