Some inside information ...... there is one spot in the song where a man says 'Oh No!'. That's me. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to singing on the radio.l

OT: Shameless Promotion of my Little Sister
Well men, my youngest sister, Carla Beck, is set to release her next song to Country and Western stations across Canada next week. She's trying to generate some advance promotion for her song by posting it on YouTube. My apologies to y'all but the song is about Canadian girls. Also, no reflection on girls who aren't Canadian ..... 'course, since I'm married to one, I think they're smokin' hot (at least my wife is, but I suppose all men think their wife is snarlin' good). Still, I think you'll enjoy the song. If you like it, post a comment and give it a good rating. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NewavYMHN9Q

Sounds great Kirk. I hope she goes far with it. Is this her first attempt? How many more songs has she recorded?

I emailed her a link to this thread so she can read y'all's comments. She's released a couple before. One almost made it to the top 40 here in Canada (Lookin' for my Cowboy).

Re: OT: Shameless Promotion of my Little Sister
I listened to the song and liked it quite a bit. It sounded more country than what's coming out of American country singers of late.
Is this song part of an album? If so what's the chance of getting an autographed copy?
Hey, it don't hurt to ask ... right?

Joe, it is part of a larger album. I could easily get you an autographed copy. I'm seeing her again in a few weeks. PM me with your mailing address.

My wife and daughter liked it a lot also.(they said Great job Carla)
Great lyrics,Great voice, even the video was really
good. Those Canadian women all looked pretty darn good too.
I put that last line in after they left the room.

Re: OT: Shameless Promotion of my Little Sister
She's got a nice/good/easy-to-listen-to voice and she sung a catchy tune. I don't see why that song wouldn't make it into the top-40. Heck, maybe even the top-10.
My only advice to her would be to drop the "roadie" who butted in with the "Oh no".

No!
She has to keep the roadie, so all of us here at leverguns can say we know a genuine singing star.

Re: OT: Shameless Promotion of my Little Sister
She has a good voice and the song reminded me of the type of country music I grew up with.
Just a suggestion, maybe she could try a remake of that Irish woman, Mary Duff's song "Heartbreaker". She has the right type of voice for it, and that song needs to be released in North America.

Malamute, that video would be a bear to try and download on dial up. I appreciate the compliment about my wife. I keep trying to tell her that it's not just my own opinion that she's a fine looking woman, but she just says that she's glad I think so, implying that love is blind.Malamute wrote:Kirk, I can't get the video to load on my dial-up connection. On another note, I gave this link to my sister and she sent me an email. Here is what she said,
Looks like she'll autograph it to you personally. (JMiller, I've got yours in the works, so don't order one.)Hi Kirk,
I read all those wonderful comments.
Whoever wants a CD, just tell them to go to my website and order it from there. They can then send a separate email from my site and ask for their order to be autographed to whoever.
Thanks,
