sling for a winchester 94
what is the best way to put a sling on my winchester 94 ranger? a previous owner had drilled into the barrel band and the stock and put studs in, but they did not hold, leaving two holes. It shouldn't be too much trouble to mount a stud in the stock, but the forend has me concerned.

Lance,
Unless you weld or braze the sling stud onto the barrel band I doubt it will hold. And there isn't enough wood in the forearm to put it there.
In the past I've used the Uncle Mikes QD mount that goes onto the magazine tube. Worked pretty good for me.

Re: sling for a winchester 94
joe has it, several makers have a split ring for the mag tube.
the other option is a loop of sling material around the barrel and tube.

careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Those ARE nice, and look like they belong. Unfortunately, my "mint" condition 94 trapper had one covering a buggered spot on the tube. I only paid $245 for it, but that upset me off.J Miller wrote:Lance,
