The ones in the pic are all NFA weapons and the guy probably inherited them with no licenses. Still criminal to dump them in a river.

Glad they were not found in a river over here, chances are they'd be thrown in a furnace!

According to the report, they didn't. Some (really STUPID) bridge repair guys found them & called the cops.

quote from the article"

He said the weapons would not be returned to the owner since they are illegal, but the bureau is curious to know whether there is more to the cache.

'We want to find out more and get our hands on whatever is out there,' he said. 'We're going to attempt to find a home for these where the public can enjoy them.' "

My hat is off to the veteran who passed away. He did not bow to the anti-constitutional laws and kept his chosen weapons to the end. Too bad his family did not share the same values and chose this way to dispose of them. I'd love to know the story behind these weapons.

I'm sure I can ID these weapons, but know ones at home at the ATF, Don't they work after 4:15 CST, the weapons are from a WW2 museum and taken around 1990 , i will call them back during banking hours tomorrow

Good on you! Had same luck with INS after business hours in pre-9/11 days...

Believe the bipod-mounted weapon is a Nambu, isn't it?

Which is probably the ONLY reason the BATFE isn't making a big deal of cutting them up with a torch on TV...

The museum that already reported the loss would have a very public connip.
