"If a man does away with his traditional way of living and throws away his good customs, he had better first make certain that he has something of value to replace them." - Basuto proverb.
jdad, you might as well admit to having the disease already. Over the past ten years I've built up and pared down my .22 accumulation at least three times and I'm still always on the lookout for a clean .22.
Never had a K22 or Model 17 though. You got a good'un!
Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits.

I'm glad someone else accumulates, enjoys, trades, accumulates, etc. It's a vicious, but fun cycle. Marlinman93 and some of the other members of our collectors group think I have a screw loose the way I do this.
I just don't get the thrill from centerfires the way I do from rimfires. I've probably bought and traded a dozen 39A's over the last 5 years.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
Now you need to find a Model 18; then a K38 (or a Model 14) & a Model 15....
It's a disease & there is no cure for gunorrhea
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

In real life may you be the bad butt that you claim to be on social media.

Oh, I have an earlier Model 17. Actually, I've bought and sold 2 over the years. I also have a Model 18 that is near NIB, with the tools, all the paperwork, and the original sales receipt. The only centerfire Smith I have is a 28 and it's a keeper.

MY trouble is that, besides the rimfire kick I'm on, I seem to be coming across guns I haven't seen F/S in 20 years in my area - but have always wanted.
For instance, a primo .22 Hornet Savage 219B, that I stumbled across a few days ago when I returned to a shop to buy an old Walther PP .22 (that was GONE, of course). I can ransom it by next week, when my state paperwork returns.
Oh, well - the little I spent on the Hornet was better than what the PP woulda run.
I understand the purchase, just can't understand how you are able to let the nice ones go! I just can't let very many go, unless I've got something else I really want more, or have tired of them totally!
You did good. A couple years ago, my dad seen a bunch of guns in the local paper and called looking for that particular gun. He has wanted one for 30+ years and he always calls. Unbelievably, the guy said he had one and would sell it for $300. I was at school in the middle of class whe I got the call so as soon as school let out, I picked him up, went to the ATM, and headed to look at it with him. There were 2 others at the guys house that wanted the pistol but he was honest and waited for us. Let me tell you, it was nice. Hardly any wear and with the original S&W holster but no box. And to top it off, it was a pre-17. I am surprised I didn't rip my shorts off getting the guy his money. My dad still has it but refuses to shoot it as he is afraid to wear it and like he says, he has other revolvers. I liked the feel of it so much that I bought a 34 w/nickel but only a 2"barrel. Surprisingly, I am amazed how it shoots.
Give us a range report when you get the chance so I know what I am missing.
