OT _ Happy Tartan Day!
Today is the day set asidxe to honor the contributions of people of Scottish Blood to thye building of the United States.
It also celebrates the 689 anneversary of the Signing pf the Cecloaration of Arbroath. In that declaration, signbed by 199 Scottish noblemen, they declared Scotland's independence from England ans asked the Pope to recognize that independence and lift the interdict laid upon Scotlan.
A key feature of the Declaration was the idea that Free Men had a right to choose their rulers, and had the right to change those rulers if they failed to fulfill their duty to the people. This sentiment was echoed 456 years later in the words of the Declaration of Independe4nc.
In honor of Tartan Dawy, I offer you a toast, so lift high your classes, mugs, bottles and cupw.
Gentlemen! The Tartan!
Here's to it!
The fighting sheen of it
The yellow, the green of it,
The white, the blue of it,
The swing, the hue of it,
The darek, the red of it,
Every thread of it!
The fair have sighed for it,
The brave have died for it,
Foement have sought for it,
Heroes fought for it,
Honour the name of it,
Drink to the fame of it,
The Tartan!

Back at you Doc.... A toast to those Freedom loving Scotts! We could use some of their Faith, fire and patriotism just about now.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
