I am wondering about the different 454's available. Rossi, Legacy, Puma. Are they all the same? I want the high pressure 92 model. I understand they are not imported anymore. Some are available through online auctions. Wondering if they are the ones I want.
Are they drilled for scope mounts?

Re: 454 Levergun
They are all the same rifle. They were made by Rossi, imported by Legacy Sports Int., and Puma was the model designation. I've been well satisfied with mine. They are not factory drilled or tapped for scope mounting or receiver sights, although there are "no drill" scope mounts available that mount in place of the rear sight for use with long eye relief scopes. Hope this helps.
Re: 454 Levergun
Haven't shot mine much, but it seems solid. I don't plan on 'hot' .454 loads, but want to shoot in the 'hot' range for .45 Colt and didn't want to have to segregate brass. This way if it is in a .454 case, it won't fit in my revolver and blow it up!
Gander Mountain in Indianapolis has a couple still. Nice guns.

I've shot mine quite a bit though mostly with what would be "very" heavy 45colt loads in 454 brass. Mine's now about 6 years old(1400/1600 rounds) and running fine. It makes a fine companion to my 454 revolver. Got it from Nate at http://www.stevesgunz.com/index.htm so it was slick as snot right out the door.

Re: 454 Levergun
I just picked up my second one, a 16" Trapper, Stainless. The old one is a 20" blued model. Have run Hot 45's thru it and 454's as well. They are a light powerhouse that is a joy to carry. DP
