Winchester M94 BB 444 Marlin?
Did Winchester ever make the M94 BB or Timber Carbine in 444 Marlin without the dang receiver cross bolt safety? I've never seen either of them without one so I was just wondering.
Thanks
Thanks

Yep I have A BB94 thats in .444 it didn't have a cross bolt safety of a tang safety. it did come with a rebounding hammer but that was changed to a half cock quickly..I believe the 94BB was only offered in 87..I don't know about the timber .444 I do remember seeing them in stores a few years ago.

The timber carbine was manufactured for a total of one year. There are both 'crossbolt' models and tang models.
The crossbolt model was 16 1/2 inch barrel-- mine is ported.
I believe there was also a 20 inch version available without porting but I have never seen one.
I also believe the tang models were non ported and 18 or 20 inch barrel length. Production is said to be very low on this chambering.

[I have one with a 20" barrel.]
One what ? "One" sometimes confuses folks, as the 20" barreled, straight gripped carbines were the BigBore 94's, and the 17 1/2" ported, pistol-gripped carbines were the Timber Carbines.
To further confuse the BB94 issue, Winchester termed the 17 1/2" ported, pistol-gripped carbine the "Timber" (no "carbine").
