Marlin 336 25-35
I have always wanted a 336 in this caliber. I have a 336 action for a 30-30. Can someone recommend a gunsmith that could rebarrel this rifle to that caliber?

I would like to know something about this also, what other modifications would need to be made besides the barre?
Re: Marlin 336 25-35
The Marlin barrels with their "hood" are a bit (perhaps more) of an additional expense over most rifles. Given the same contour as the original, there isn't, otherwise, much to it.

John Taylor can either rebarrel your 336, or reline it. I personally would go with e reline, as it saves you rebluing, and all the original markings. John's work is the best, and I can attest to that!

Endorse a re-line. The .25-35 Marlin I was given in exchange for some gunwoodworking has a Bienke .25 bbl liner in the original .30 bbl. Exact copy of the Ballard cut rifling. The man who gave it to me cleaned up in matches all over his section of Georgia with that rifle. Mounted a nearly bbl length old Fecker scope on it, in spring loaded mounts.marlinman93 wrote:John Taylor can either rebarrel your 336, or reline it. The well-worn gun reminds me of the old hot rodders who drove a 'heap', with a killer engine in it. ;~`)
