OT Loaded for Bear

Post by Les Staley »

My son is heading to Bethel Alaska on May 4th for a Brown Bear hunt with the Renfro family. He came over this evening and we loaded up forty rounds for his Remington 300 Ultra Mag.. 180 gr Nosler Partitons at 3300 FPS. He is 35, and makeing good money, so this is his year.. He and I did a Dall Sheep hunt in 2006, I was 59 and did okay.. (its a shame that you only get enough money for one of these escapades when you're too old to go..)..we both got our rams, found two shooters together and collected both of 'em.. even got mine on video takeing the hit and endoing down the shale slope.. what a hunt!!.. enough for now.. Best of luck to him. I had the opportunity to shoot a 300 Remington Ultra Mag yesterday.
All I can say is WOW! what fun!

Regards,

Troy
I didn't fail the test, I just found 100 ways to do it wrong.

Renfro seems to be a good operator. He should have a good time if the weather cooperates. The only place that I might eat out in Bethel, though, is Subway. Better yet, he might get some food from the store and prepare his own meals. The B&Bs seem to be OK, too. He wants to stay healthy before and after he flies out. Good luck.
