Henry Service Exceeded My Expectations!!!!!
okay I bought a Golden Boy in .22lr. It shot about 2" left at 25yds. I looked at the front sight and it was a hair to the right of center. So I take out the brass punch and try to move it over. No Luck this is not moving. I hit it a little too hard and ding the base of the sight. So out of frustration I tried to move over the rear sight and ding the wood!!! All scratches my fault!
I call Henry and the Service Man tells me he is sending out UPS labels today. I get them and sent the gun off last Friday. It comes back to me yesterday 1 week! And they put a new front sight on not just move the old one! And they replaced the forestock with NEW WOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
They test fired it and sent me the target with a new box and new felt covers for the brass.
Remember I did all the damage! And this isn't a high ticket rifle. They will have my business forever!!!!! Even in a recession where $ is tight they invested in their customer. Anyone looking at a lever should remember Henry's Service is second to NONE!!!

Welcome to the forum.
Good to hear a company do what they should all do. Provide excellent customer service. That's what keeps customers coming back and advertising your product. Chalk one up for Henry.

Maybe I'll have to take a second look at that pump in .22 mag. They might be priced all that high after all.

My brother was shooting his Henry Big Boy in 44 Mag. All was going well and the next round was a BIG bang. I said that sounded pretty hot and he agreed. Then he tried to work the lever. No go. It was locked up tight. We could not get it apart so off to a gun smith. He got it apart and determined it had a bent bolt. Talking to Henry they said if you install the bolt and it still won't cycle to send it to them. That's what he had to do. Turned out the bolt was bent along with a few other issues and a buldged barrel. At this point I have to confess that he was shooting my reloads. I had double charged one round so all this damage was my fault. I was ready to buy my bro a new rifle. Henry knew the whole story, rebuilt the gun, paid shipping both ways all at no charge. They did say not to do that again. I have reloaded for 30 years and this was my first double charge. I went through my entire procedure and I can say with complete confidence I know how I did this. I am thankful that no one was hurt and that he was shooting a rifle tough enough to handle a screw up like that. I am also grateful to Henry because they saved me the cost of a new rifle. Great company.

I've heard that their customer service is awfully good.
Dillon is the same way.
Dodge and GM, on the other hand........
I keep wanting to buy a Henry, but there's always another gun that beats them to the punch!

Bird man, do you remember what powder you were using when you double charged that case?

Hey Rusty,
I was using Accurate #5. 14 gr with a 200 gr lead round nose flat point. 28 gr was a bit more than needed. I went through every step and I know what I did wrong. I was hesitant to write about it because I am not overly proud of my mistake. People can get hurt when you don'ty pay attention and I feel we were very lucky. I have reloaded for 30 years and never had a problem so don't ever get too lax in what your doing. Again, I was very impressed with Henry and the strength of their rifle.

Great hearing another story about Henry's customer service. BTW I recently bought a used Henry Big Boy .357. After I received it, I sent Henry an email inquiring about service should I need it. Their response was that they would still warrant the rifle despite the fact that I bought used. I found this quite impressive.

Re: I know I'm new but I have to share this. Henry Service
Yes, welome fuji! I'm glad they appreciate their customers. Birdman, I did the same thing a year ago. I was loading for my USFA Premium grade SA in .45 Colt I'd purchased recently using VV N350, (10.9grs) under a 250gr lead bullet. I double-charged a case & didn't look into them before I started seating the bullets. At the range, the first round was normal, but the second sounded like a .44Magnum.....no recoil as I blew the top of the cylinder & the topstrap off the gun, sending a piece of shrapnel into the thumb of a guy a couple spots to my left..........coulda been a LOT worse. We were both lucky. Taught me a lesson, tho. jd45
