1895 Winchester
A man down the road passed away a while back and his wife is selling some guns. She has an 1895 Winchester 28 inch barrel 30-40 Krag. The gun is in almost new condition. Serial number puts it at 1905. Any ideas on roughly what it would be worth?

about $400 bucks, nobody wants those things anymore --- have her contact me and i may even be persuaded to give her $500 to ease her pain
just kidding -- thats a very nice firearm for its vintage

Great gun - one of those took what was the first place largest elk in Boone & Crockett west of Crested Butte - a friend of mine had both the rifle and rack in his motel - for a time. Another friend of mine has one and swears by it.
