OT- Fellow Texans, How about this RAIN!

Post by rangerider7 »

I'm in Central Texas and this rain is great. We were about to have to hall water to the cattle. Now grass will come on out, tanks will fill, and lakes will get up. :D

We're closing in on 2 inches here in Caddo Mills. I'm off this week, mandatory furlough, so I'm getting to enjoy it. I hope it keeps up like they say it's going to.

Ricky;
You better stay away from Honey Creek for the next few days or you could get bogged down.

Only .4" so far, but not a single grass fire today!

With the near freezing temps, it's a miserable time to be a cow, but they'll be ok if we can get a little grass out of it.

A miserable time to be a cow and a cowboy is in North Dakota right now. We were on the north edge of a 2 day blizzard, -40 wind chills, 3-10" of snow. Just got in from the hourly check of the calving pen, it's only -4 degrees, but we're keeping the ears from freezing off the newborns. I'd sure take some of that rain and I am so looking forward to green grass....been a loooong winter.

We wound up with 2 1/4 inches here, and it was badly needed, north of us got up to 4 inches. You could almost here the ground soaking it up. Suppose to be some more heading our way tonight and tomorrow.

I stand corrected - in our yard, we got about 1.5 inches. So, not too shabby. And more to come God willing....
