I would really like to replace the one I sold with a 5" SS variant... but they made even fewer of them...

They are out there but nowadays people are asking too much, IMHO. I don't know, maybe they just are getting more scarce. I'm glad I got mine when I did.

keep checking your local firearm places. You want to have it in your hand and make sure it isn't ruined. Some out there are selling junk and you want a good one.
Look for the stainless steel ones as they take the abuse of powder better but a good blued one will last a lifetime.
I will say this that a .457 diameter ball makes a really nice hole when it hits something.
I would not buy one right now off the internet no matter the price. Go where you can put it in your hand and check it out before you put your money down. Prices are to high right now and everyone is out to take your money.

I have (2) stainless 7-1/2" Old Army revolvers @ $450.00 for sale. One is a 200th anniversary model.
