can anyone tell me what levergun is in the movie full metal jacket?
Re: levergun in full metal jacket
It's been a while since I've seen that one. I don't remember there being a lever in it.
Re: levergun in full metal jacket
in the scene where rafterman is taking a picture of the dead gook there is one laying on the ground next the marine, then that same guy has it in his pack when they are walking behind the tanks and the lt. gets killed

Look at about the 3-minute mark:

If it's a levergun it looks like something with a 1/2 magazine.

Another problem is that he suddenly has an open c-rat can and gear over the butt of the rifle while he's mugging for the camera guy. It does look like there is a lever on it (but it seems to be a full-length tube to me)...

That would make more sense in SEA... 12ga ia more available than .30-30.. and a bit more useful in the jungle.Griff wrote:1887 shotgun... pistol grip.

Re: levergun in full metal jacket
looks like a marlin in 444 that was painted black. some of these rifles were used in vietnam, as bunker busters. snipers who didn't care for the rem 700 had their personal varmint rifles shipped to them from the states. never know what's gonna show up in a combat zone. the ultimate weapon is the one that you have the most confidence in and shoot well. some will claim it's underpowered or not accurate enough for the job at hand. but if you been shooting long enough, you already know that.

wildhobbybobby got it right it is a daisy red rider it took me a while to figure it out i had to go to a web site called guns in movies if my memory serves me correct i was watching it the other day and that just caught my eye seemed a little out of place. ive seen the movie 5 or 6 times and never noticed it before
Re: levergun in full metal jacket
There was a serviceman who favored the Marlin 444 for BunkerBusting. I read the article some years ago. There is a known picture of him with the 444.
