I don't know any details about it other than the 412 FPS claim above.

Last week when trying to find some gun legislation, I DID come across a proposal which would register/license compound bow owners; I was at work and when I came back to the computer, someone had changed screens, but I think it was out east someplace. Typical mindless liberal socialist progressive moderate whatever-it-calls-itslef-this-week stuff.

I've almost gotten a crossbow several times, but the price tags always push me back to propellers of bullets vs. arrows.

AJ +1

There are some really cool xbows out there but they are also easy enough to make (I have plans from the '7o's from Popular Mechanix)

I just think the whole modularity thing with the AR is fascinating.

As for cool Xbow engineering - I like the Horton Recon/Vision "Reverse Paralel Limb" bow:

Still a $1000+ bow though.

I think the point is to have another "non-EBR" use for your AR Lower... thus making it even more difficult for those who would like to say there is "no sporting purpose" for an AR.

MY 60# Martin Vision longbow will launch a 550 grain arrow at 214 FPS. that plenty for me.

Faster to reload than a compound too.

Oh for the love of Pete! Y2K joined the archery club at his elementary school this year (they only offer it to the 5th graders). They just had try-outs and he made the team to go to the state tourament. They use Genesis compound bows. We're thinking of getting him one - so now he may need to be licensed?!?

I think this is kinda cool. I would have a list a mile long of things I'd rather spend that kind of dough on, but if you had the money, and wanted every kind of attachment/accessory/configuration for your AR-15, this would be a "must have" addition! :D
