Yuma gunshow report

Post by jnyork »

Yuma gunshow was elbow to elbow this morning, by far most people I have ever seen in there. Lots of EBR's in evidence, average price about $1500.00, :o tons of handguns to be had at about the usual prices. Bolt action sporters gone begging, ammo and components flying out the door but not being scalped by any means, lots of powder at 20-22 buck. Reloading dies are just over the moon for some reason, priced for used higher than new at Midway. Picked up a very nice Marlin 39a for $365.00, a little steep but so is food!!

Couldn't find a nice new beanie baby but the beef jerky was not too bad.

Plenty of junk, no doubt. Funny thing, one of the best deals I have gotten recently at a gun show came off a table full of figurines, dolls and other brickabrack for ladies. The old lady had used most of the table for her stuff and the old man had a small corner where he had I think 4 rifles. I almost walked by it but happened to glance over and saw a Marlin lever gun. Turned out to be a 336 A DL model in 32 Special, excellent condition, which I wound up buying for IIRC $275.00. I think I posted this before, but here it is again:Image

24" barreled A-DL's are very nice finds anytime! I saw one of the Bishop stocked A-DL's in .35 Rem at a local gun show yesterday! It was 1958 vintage, and had a Leupold 4x scope on it. Beautiful gun, and dealer wanted $595 for it. I was sorely tempted, as I figured the scope was worth $100, but didn't know if those Bishop stocked A-DL's were getting $500 yet?

Went to a show yesterday, no flea market stuff at gunshows around here . Tables are guns, knives, military or a combination of those.

The only gun I was tempted by wasn't a lever. It was a Norwegian Krag carbine 6.5 X 55 for $250. When I went back to get a better look someone had it in their hands buying it. I thanke d him for buying it so I could get it off my mind. Also a 375BB for $475 . Everything else was way over priced.

No onced fired brass at all and bullet selection was at a minimum . I left buying nothing form my list of reloading stuff and gunparts. Alot more new guns than used.

BenT, were you at the Duluth show? I went there on Saturday not to impressed. Was also looking for reloading gear but nothing. Did sell one of my bolt guns but not the Winchester. Do think the show is getting smaller each year.

Your experience is about what is WAS like here in Pa. up to about 3 weeks ago. EBR's and ammo flying out the door. Seems like everyone wants to cash in on their extra EBR's and now the market is flooded here.

At the Oak's show, most EBR's were back to their "pre-obama" prices. Ammo has been restocked and 7.62 x 39 is back to $219 a thou.

I did manage to get a deal on a Sham-Wow. I think it was $20 and they threw in an extra piece for nothin'

Cwortired , I went to the one in Lacrosse. It's a good show lots of tables and guys with parts. The best shows in Wisconsin are put on by www.bobandrocco.com . There Eau Claire show is closest to me , but check out their sight for schedules . I think the problem with gunshows is that I see the same people selling all the time , so I see alot of the same inventory. Not alot of new stuff on the tables. With the economy I expected to see more older guns come out of closets and get sold. But that wasn't the case.

Couldn't find parking at the Southaven MS show. Couldn't afford anything, wouldn't get rid of anything (if I had any after that horrible boating accident, I mean). Apparently not everybody has gotten the word about how awful things are going to get, yet. I got a couple of standard-capacity mags for a gun I have (I mean had, before that boating accident) for $10 each, and my son found a box of commie ammo for $0.24 per round (if he had a gun that would shoot it that would have been the best deal we've found in a long time)
