New to me Super Blackhawk ... Thanks for your input
I followed the advice I received from some of you on this forum and I bought this gun. Knowing that most of us love to fondle guns, and when that isn't possible, we like to look at them, I have posted some pics of the 44 mag that I just bought.
The gun came in the box, with a box of ammo.
The only fault I could find was some stains on one side of the hammer,
a nick on the base of the handle,
and a line in the bluing on the cylinder from use.
Thanks for the input you all gave me last week. I think I am going to really enjoy this gun.

Congrats! That's a nice one!
You going to handload for it? If so, I'd recommend the 250 Keith style bullets - for all-around general use.

I will be handloading for this so I can afford to shoot it enough to become proficient with it. This is my first big bore pistol, so I have a lot to learn. I did shoot it a few times though and was hitting a 3.5" group at 40 yards. I thought that was ok for me, a newbie at shooting pistols.

There is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy it. I have one exactly the same and there is nothing like the way it rolls in your hand with full house loads

Have one just like it. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Good to see it was still there when you went back. I've probably had six different ones in the past. Don't have a single one now.

Every handgunner should have a Super Blackhawk! Mine came to me when I traded a beloved .38 Super Colt, so I could shoot silhouette. My gunshop guy was a pal...had this one set aside because it had a minimum cylinder gap, and the range rod showed near perfect alignment between barrel and cylinder. The gun shot well enough to win me some matches: it averaged 4-1/2 or 5 inches on the pigs at 100 meters, and under 12 at the rams (200.) I haven't shot it much since I retired from silhouette, but I would never get rid of it. A handgun that shoots darn near as well as a rifle! Best wishes with yours...it's in fine shape, and in your first outing it looks like you'll get along with it fine! I recommend an accuracy load of 240gr. Hornady or Sierra and IMR 4227.

Good job, George! I think you'll really like it. It looks just like my very 1st .44 I bought some 31 years ago!
