My daughter and I went to our club's annual Christmas shoot (pistol caliber levergun silhouette to 50 yards, indoors) last night. Had a great time and after the shooting tucked into rabbit stew. We both won a Buck folder.
The disappointment? Got back to my daughter's place to finish the evening off with a beer, opened the knives and saw "CHINA"

Sometimes I wonder if it is worthwhile gnawing through the leather straps to get up in the morning..................
The guy at my local knife shop told me Buck now has two lines they sell. that is the China line, designed for the K-Mart crowd. those who buy with price as the indicator for the beast buy and don't care about quality. I bought one of those China fillet knives a few years ago and it was more touble to send it bac than it was to keep.
I did send Chuck Buck a letter though telling them that I had bought my last knife from them. May they RIP

It's easier to fool people than it is to convince them they have been fooled.
I bought a Winchester Folding Lock Blade knife. The thing is no good! The lock will hold but you have to take the time to intentionally set the lock,it doesnt completely set upon initial opening. I dont see anything that indicates where it was made, but CHINA would sound accurate.
Gun Control is not about guns, it is about control!
Recently got my Charlton Heston tribute knife from the NRA for a contribution. The thing won't stay closed. I am guessing China. As for me, I wish the NRA would stop wasting my contributions on this kinda of stuff. I don't need or want fake cartridges, lapel pins, or tribute knives and they do nothing to entice me to contribute. I have asked that they not waste postage and send me this stuff but it comes regardless and is routinely relegated to the round file or to the drawer from wence there is no return. This knife would have had some utiliterian purpose but since it opens up in your pocket it isn't safe. In the drawer it goes.
Not by choice and I'm not defending it, but I ended up with a couple of china pocket knives. hit the junk on the bench grinder with sharpening wheels on it and they both take a razors edge quickly and hold up to cleaning a deer.... like I said, FWIW only.
Personally I use Havalon scalpel pocket knife with autopsy blades for a lot of my work, and a couple of LEM knives for the rest of it generally, though I use an old hickory cotton bale knife for major skinning and an old buck and old schrade for bone chores. And use a big cold steel serated for ripping the chest cavity open.
