Gun Identity ???? Looks like a Marlin 336
My friend has a levergun from Sears. Looks like a Marlin 336. On barrel: Sears & Roebuck, 103.451, Model 45, 30/30 cal. Under lever # is : Y28893. It has no safety & is mint. What is this & what's it worth ? Thanks, John

The Sears model 103.451 was made by Marlin for Sears, Roebuck & Co and is nothing more than a store brand 336. Same gun, same high quality.

The Sears "clones" (Marlin and Winchester) usually had plain (non walnut) wood and often weren't polished as well to meet a price point. They are just as reliable though.

Some of the ones for Sears were marked "Ted Williams model."

I'd say $200-300 depending on condition and perhaps some features. What do YOU think? How much would YOU pay for that gun? IOW, how low would the price have to go before you would feel you couldn't pass it by?
