.410 levergun

Post by jkbrea »

I saw a .410 Marlin XLR on gunbroker today for $799. It's states it's a limited run. I don't know if this is good or not. I remember someone awhile back looking for a lever .410. They also have a Winchester but it's a little more and used. I couldn't figure out how to put up a picture.

That's pretty much where all the new 410 SS Marlins are going, or should I say "asking".

Marlin made their first 410 lever actions on the Model 1893 action back in the 20's . I do not own one of these but would some day liek to !

I do however have one of the more recent 410's that was built on the 336 action . Mine was from the original run on the 336 action which has been out of production for about 5 years now . When I bought mine I paid $375 for it I think and it was still NIB until about 2 months ago . I have since seen LNIB Marlin 410's going for about $700 and of course then there's this stainles one that like MM93 I think is way over priced .

I think you should be able to find a nice used Marlin thats blued and walnut like mine possibly for $500 maybe less who knows util they look !

The XLR 410 is an uncatalogued run of 350 guns. I paid $845.00 including sales tax for mine. If you want one get it, they will not be available long.

I have one of the blued/walnut versions. I like it a lot and paid about $375'ish for mine too. The only negative I have about it is that it is heavy. When trudging through a foot or more of snow looking for cotton tails it starts to weigh on you.
