So I sit in a tree for 4 hours until nightfall, then climb down when it's too dark to shoot (legally and especially with a bow) - and I swear to God one of them darn deer walked to within 20ft and stuck it's tongue at me while it watched me packed up.

I had my cross hairs on a nice 10 point on Tuesday AM in Kansas, he did not stick out his tongue much when a .358 Silver Tip ripped through his neck. First deer I've hunted and shot in a long time, made me feel human again.

I'd a run forward and tried to STAB him with the arrow. At the least you'd have taught that deer a lesson and perhaps you could have gotten on TV as one of those hunters attacked by a deer.

I won't write on here what I would have done if he walked up that close on me in that situation and could see him well enough to tell his tongue was out !

Suffice it to say he would have followed me to the truck and I would have been the only one walking
