that is a gun pad made for use when cleaning and disassembling guns, and i got it in Bob Ward Sporting Goods store in Bozeman MT ; it was less than $20 and serves its purpose well and is excellent for a photo background.casastahle wrote:hfcable,

If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the green background
in your photos?
Maybe I should ask our resident photographer this why question. (Kirk)
Why do firearms seem to photograph so much better on a hunter green background?
I suspect it has to do with the same kind of color combinations/contrasts that complement and set off each other, per the color wheel (complementary colors, split-complementary colors, etc.). You see it all the time in make-up, clothes, etc.casastahle wrote:Why do firearms seem to photograph so much better on a hunter green background?
Hmmm, I can't say I've ever combined those two scenarios in a single thought process...alnitak wrote:For example, traditional thought is that a blonde looks best in a black negligee while a redhead is better matched with an emerald green one. Given that the rifle stock is browner, with reddish undertones, the darker hunter green hue works well.
Dang, cable, where'd 'ya get that wood? Love the half-oct bbl, too. here's one I picked up a while back. Very rare caliber in a lightweight configuration.hfcable wrote:always the same one:

I'll try to snag up a picture or two.Catshooter wrote:Idiot,I for one would like to see some photos of your .357 it sounds like a well set up rifle. That sling swivel on the front band intriges me.
No it ain't, it's a laser range finder from the 1800's!Hagler wrote:Old Ironsights,

And here I thought you were passionate about your lever guns! I'm disappointed.awp101 wrote:Hmmm, I can't say I've ever combined those two scenarios in a single thought process...alnitak wrote:For example, traditional thought is that a blonde looks best in a black negligee while a redhead is better matched with an emerald green one. Looks like the rear side-sight-mount filler screw is backed out someIdiot wrote:Catshooter: Here's some photos of the old shovel.
