Marlin Serial Number HELP!
I found a Marlin that I like in a 45-70. It is a straight grip 1895. The buyer told me the serial# is B0075NN but I can find no indication that it is a valid SN. I'm just trying to find out what year it was made. Any Ideas? Thanks
Re: Marlin Serial Number HELP!
Sounds like an earlier, 1970s 1895 but I do not think that ser.# is correct. In any event, they are nice rifles. Better verify. 1886.

Re: Marlin Serial Number HELP!
Here's a ditty I found some time ago.
"For the "New Model" Marlin 1895 the first year of manufacture, 1972, included a B0 prefix. That is "bee" "zero". Otherwise up to 2000 subtract the first two digits from 2000 to get the year of manufacture and after 2000 subtract the first two digits from 2100 to get the year of manufacture."
Hope that helps.
