There has been at least 10 comments on my hunting attire.
I'm shocked to discover hidden under all this ruff and tumble iron sighted levergun crowd lies a plethora of fashion conscious Divas
I figured given the price of Woolrich attire these days, that I would of been able to but my way into the A crowd.

I'd just love to see pics of everyone else's "best" hunting outfits.
I'm sure its bond to include cowboy hats, matching boot, chaps a rifle and pistol combo.....ect.

That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.
I wear gray wool pants or lined jeans, a heavy shirt, maybe a fleece jacket and an insulated (and unfortunately camo) coat. I have both orange and camo insulated gloves I received as gifts. I have a variety of headgear (I could have used something warmer than a ball cap yesterday!). I generally wear Bean hunting shoes with wool socks. BUT, if you want a photo you need to come on down and take it yourself. Nobody else will waste a camera on me.

I pretty much dress as you do. Wool jacket that would match your pants, and grey wool pants. I was kinda surprised to see the comments on your attire, as in the northeast here you wouldn't even get a second glance. Your deer is upside down though. Congrats on your success.

I really shouldn't comment on your attire, I once wore a women s fleece coat that was mostly red and rescued from a trip to Goodwill on a hunting trip, but man.... those pants are ugly!
My old man wore a pair like that when he dressed up as Santa Claus,
WCF3030 , we all can't be trend setters. But I wear pants like yours. It's a broken up pattern like camo and wool breaths great . It's nice see your deer hung correctly for proper bleed out and they skin easier that way also. I don't have any pictures in my hunting attire handy.

Ok I fall into the lets look like a bush backwoods sniper group. But in my defense I am a Marine and my Dad works at Cabelas.
The gun is a Marlin 783 in .22WMR

Because of the situation/timing I'm going to have to invest in a set of coveralls to hunt in... may as well be Camo since the only time I'm on Stand (when I need such stuff) is during Archery Only/UDZ.

(EDIT) The hat's on funny because I used it to mark the carcass while I went back for the truck... just took it off the antlers/stuck it on my head before the pic.

There will come a day when you'll grow out of it. Believe me. I'm much more "relaxed" about my field clothing now. #1 priority is warm, #2 is comfortable.

If it is really cold, I have got the biggest, puffiest, coveralls ever. Thankfully there arent any pictures of me in that.
I spent most of my free time for a couple of years calling and hunting coyotes and bobcats in Arizona. I always wore camo including face mask and gloves. Whether or not it helped is unknown, but I got almost runover many times by young coyotes that were hungry.

Problem is you're not wearing a Woolrich jacket and hat along with the pants. Then you'd be grade A.

Actually that is a woolrich heavy shirt in the pic and I've a orange camo woolrich heavy hunting coat not seen in the pic. Along with a woolrich orange camo stocking cap.

This is the best I can do, this is me in camp cooking squirrel while trying to stay warm. I usually wear some kind of army surplus wool, and fleece layers under a light camo shirt and bibs. The pants I'm wearing in this picture are Swedish wool army pants that I picked up cheap and have used for years, very thick and durable. I recently bought 4 pair of heavy German Army wool pants for about 10 bucks a pair, I now have a life time supply of hunting pants.
Been sittin here trying to figure out which pics have real heads, and which ones are just necks blowin' bubbles! Since I don't have access to digital pics or a scanner, I can't show ya'll my "bubble", so ya'll are fortunate. Seriously all the hunting gear looks reasonable to me! Comfort above style first and foremost. I doubt that the deer study Vogue or Style mag. and could care less. Nemhead, maybe it's just me, but in that picture you sure do seem to favor Chuck Norris!
When I need to camo-up...(hardly ever 'cept on "planned" 'yote hunting) I have a set of BDU's that can stand in the corner on their own.
Great thing about those BDU... after they dry rot I can get more for about $20 bucks a set.
Other hunting.... the classic mix of Carrharts and Wrangler work clothes. Over the years most of my best hunting has been mixed up with fencing or finding lost livestock. I think I have a cheap game vest with a the legal orange panels and a K mart blaze orange hoodie if it's cold out
During formal deer season the cowboy hat stays home... the "sound shooters' from town swear a brim looks just like a 8 pt rack.

Most of my hunting is for predators hence the cammo job. For mulies I wear a pair of dark brown Wranglers my desert combat boots and a tan long sleeve shirt. Mulies in SoCal ussualy is a lot of walking in open brush country comfort is the name of the game then.

Somewhere in one of my photo albums, I have a picture of my Dad in such an outfit. My Dad, ol' Vinny Schwietzer & Olie Ferona were the talk of the North Branch Inn when they showed up dressed to the nines after a days hunt. Myself, I only had the jacket, which I bought in 1962, the year of my 1st deer hunt, for the then princely sum of US $25.00 & it was a lot of work for a 16 year old to come up w/ that kind of money back then. My son wore the jacket until about 10 years ago when it disappeared.
Anyway thanks for taking me back 40+ years & making me remember. Sure miss those guys & all the fun we had....
