Where would you get .44 rimfire ammo?
C2N14... because life is not energetic enough. מנא, מנא, תקל, ופרסין Daniel 5:25-28... Got 7.62?
Not Depressed enough yet? Go read National Geographic, July 1976 Gott und Gewehr mit uns!
They always looked like a miniature of the 1881 Marlin. You can definitely see the Burgess influence in both guns with the frame shape, and sliding loading gate.

Vall,
That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it.........a minature 1881.

I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
I am a novice on antique lever guns, so someone please tell me what the cut-out on the butt plate and the brass button are for.

Not knowing much about the Colt Burgess rifles, to me it looks like a sturdy well designed gun.
Does it have faults? If not, would it be hard or too expensive to reproduce perhaps in Italy?
Seeing how many fine old designs are recreated there, I think that one would find a market if it was priced right and reliable.
Thanks for posting, it's got me daydreaming about firearms again!!!!
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
The story to that gun as I understand, colt came out with that lever, then winchester came out with a very nice single action revolover. Kind of a warning to stay out of each others territory. I dont know if it was a offical agreement or not, but it worked! Colt quit building levers and winchester stayed out of handguns.
Opp,s sorry guys. On the picture I at 1st didnt read the write up to my same input. Didnt mean to be redundant.
Not a bad Burgess, but IMNSHO he is too high at $4495. That gun should sell for more like $28-3200. They are NOT as scarce as some would believe.

Speaking as someone who has been one of the "DOG's" consignees, the BIN price is set by the seller. It's still a "no reserve" auction.
I have always been a sucker for old double barreled shotguns. Drool!

Mike, I'm with 'ya on the price thing but...............most guys don't know where to find this stuff like you and I do. Its capitalism at its finest right here in the US of A. Some fish will come along who just inherited a million bucks and don't care.-------------Sixgun
