Then you are probably familiar with this sequence of events:
Dog bounds in from outside all happy and ready to play
Dog sees cat and thinks to himself "Oh boy! It has four legs and a tail like me! I bet it wants to play!"
Dog approaches cat and throws front paws in air signaling it wants to play
Cat says "Hey! He just threw his paws up at me! It's GO TIME!
"
Cat hisses and growls
Dog thinks "Oh boy! It makes noise like I do when I want to play! I'll make noises back!"
Dog barks at cat signaling his joy of playing
Cat thinks "Barking? At ME? I'm gonna slap the taste out of his mouth!"
And then the fun and games begin.
Going on week three here with several cats we've had for years and a new puppy who'll be 11-12 weeks this week.
If these walls could talk, I'd listen to the floor.
Actually, he won't know what he's missing and will be the better for it. It looks like y'all have found a fine companion. Here's to hoping he'll be with you for many years of wonderful companionship.
