Stargate Atlantis, Winchesters and I watch too much TV
I was just catching a replay of last week's episode, when low and behold the local "humans from another galaxy" hold our intrepid heroes at bay with a brass-framed Winchester. It was probably a 66, but I didn't get a good enough look to confirm the presence of a forearm.

Yep, it was a 66. I got a good look just before they blew up the guy holding it.

No, it isn't alien. It's got to do with the fact that even different societies will come up with the same solutions to problems. So the alien folks had there version of Oliver and John Moses. Probably have a Stoner in the future. That didn't come out right. I mean a Eugene. Poor Eugene must have been teased about that one. And let's hope they have a future Garand.

Saw that episode yesterday (had previously taped it). I thought the same thing - wow, another society smart enough to invent a lever-action!!!
