'92 Forend length ?

Post by Yance »

I have a friend who is planning on restocking his EMF Hartford .45 Colt rifle in good ol' American Black Walnut and asked me if the Rossi forends were identical to the original Winchester dimensions. Since I had no clue I figured several of you here would know.

Me, I'm just leaving the dark stained Brazilian Hardwood on my carbine. :D

TIA

Model 92 Winchester RIFLE forends are 9 3/8" long. CARBINE forearms are 9 1/8" long. Additional RIFLE forearm dimensions are: At the breech end, 1 7/16" High, 1 9/16" Wide, and at the muzzle end, 1 11/64" H., 1 1/16" W. You'll have to measure the EMF, I don't have those dimensions.

The Win Carbine wood is close enough it can be made to fit the Rossi. The Win rifle butstocks are close but the win rifle forend is too short by about 1".
