Our season opened Saturday and I got one that morning. I went out today and got 3 more. Rifle is working just fine

A lot of yellow in them.

They are fox squirrels, most common around here, get a few greys but not many. I would really like to get a black squirrel but have only seen one.

Blacks ARE Greys. SO if you don't see many greys you won't see many (any) blacks.

Here in NIN we have Lots of Blacks - more than Greys actually - and lots of Fox, plus a (very few) Reds and Flying.

Using the remington subsonics, doing a good job so far had one go clear through lengthwise and did not ruin any meat. Thought about you yesterday and the pictures of the foxes you shoot, had a large coyote probably 40 pounds or better run by. I took a shot but no luck.
