Lyman 21 sight

One of you guys better get on "Flea-Bay" and try to score the nice Lyman No 21 DA sight that is currently being auctioned. It's the correct sight for the '94 Winchester. I don't want to have to pick it up just to toss in my parts bin, but if someone here doesn't go for it that's what will happen. They do not show up every day.

That one? Wow - $180... I am sure that's fair for that, given the scarcity but I'm good with my $70 Marbles tang sight.

Good price so far. The 1895 ones get close to $400 (at least they used to).

That's a bummer about missing the small aperture. Perhaps you D&T for standard screw-ins - I've seen more than one like that.

Very few of the surviving Lyman 21 and 38 sighta have retained the discs. The newer apetures will fit fine.

I'll consider myself lucky then - all three of mine still have the flip-down aperture in working order. I didn't know....

71fan, I wasn't speaking about the fold down peep on the 38, but the thread in discs that were available with both the 21 and 38 sights.

It just goes to show 'ya that the days of finding "bargains" on "FleaBay" are looooong gone. I can buy those sights at every Reno gunshow for about that price, or less. I s'pose now that every gun that retains a Lyman 21 or 38 will now be "worth" $400 more? I don't think so, but some sellers will use this as a selling tool.
