Brad Johnson 1886
Christmas is comming, but I just don't think that I have been that good of a boy. I had no idea that he was a master rifle builder, or did I read that wrong?

Re: Brad Johnson 1886
That's a really sweet rifle.
But ... ... for that price I could move back to the west and put a down payment on a decent home and still have enough left over to buy me a nice big bore Marlin or Uberti, or Browning.
Guess I'm just a party pooper.

I hate to show my ignorance --------- but who is Brad Johnson? The only Brad Johnson I have heard of is the old NFL quarterback.

Re: Brad Johnson 1886
Very nice rifle, but for the guy who has disposible money as it would be many many years before the buyer can recoup his bucks. I can see maybe 15G's.------------Sixgun
Re: Brad Johnson 1886
There are two of them at the Bass Pro here in Vegas, the last few times I have been there. Absolutely beautiful 1886's.
I would never buy one, even if I had the money, but I sure enjoy looking at them!

Fascinating rear sight. I wonder if he makes them himself.

Re: Brad Johnson 1886
Brad Johnson has played in several westerns, including a couple with Tom Selleck. He's also restored a couple of classic hunting rifles for Selleck and himself.
I don't remember the name of the character he played in one role, but it was Bo something, and he had a Remington Keene with a full length scope on it. (I always remember the guns better than the names!)

Darn - you'd have to have been a really REALLY good boy to be in the running for that!

Thanks! I remember Bo Dorn.
Re: Brad Johnson 1886
I have to think of that beautiful rifle, or a new Marlin and ask myself- which will have a dignified patina of age after twenty years of hunting?

Beautiful, but it looks like you have to whip out a slide rule to figure out which rear sight to use...!
