I hope her first two big media disasters (IMO) were tactical moves to make Biden think she will be a push over and she comes out strong.

Same here. I hope she blows everyone away (with performance of course). Make MSNBC eat crow. They have been dogging her all night. I always watch Fox News, and was just clicking through the channels until i got sick from all their trash they were spewing.

She will do fine but this is very polarized. Strong words this weekend with old friend who doesn't like her. But, she could not retort, only drop it. I didn't start it.

All posts before me I agree with. She is intelligent and wont embarrass us or herself. Yes Biden is experienced and a motormouth, confident and all that goes with it. He just may overstep himself though. I dont think any inteligent people would expect Palen to be as well schooled as Bidens experience, however the libs and dems as always are bound to find fault with Palen no matter what is said anyway. Being bloodthirsty like that, will go against them with most morale people. Just look at the liberal entertainment crowd! They hate her so bad they are makeing fools of themselves! Just look at that fool David Letterman, he got carried away with so much hatred jokes towards her he couldnt stop himself! The entire liberal media even commented about it!
You know why they dont like her? Two big reasons. 1st, she is a real christian, and 2nd, she is morale and conservative and the ungodly hate her! They know she is right and scared to death of her! Gods hand is in this one! Dont stress, she will come out just fine.

This election is showing that the populations is very polarized. There seems to be very little common ground between the two sides. Why? Because the one side is capitalist and the other is communist. Once upon a time here in VA, a Democrat or a Republican were distinguished mainly by their party of choice with few differences in the substance of their beliefs aside from race relations. They didn't go after guns, they were all for national security, etc. About 1970-74 that started to change. E.g. now, a Dem is for gun control (Senator Webb is a notable exception) although they might go with the flow, i.e. the Republican majority, in order to have a hope for the next election. This is even evident in local government. Even constitutional officers like the Commissioner of Revenue seem to have agendas rather than an intent to just do their job.

Gov. Palin is everything the Dems have said they want a woman to be but she isn't a Dem so they hate here. I look for the debate to be structured and moderated to favor Biden. I hope she can come up with a couple of zingers for Biden but I don't know, Biden will likely drone on an on (just like I have here... ).
Sincerely,

Hobie

She will go down in flames - not 'really' - but the news media wants SO badly to fry her. The hosts are transparently socialist in all the debates I've seen over the years, and obviously the 'pundits' afterwards who tell us who 'won' are socialist.

You haven't Hobie (droned on), but Biden sure does. Hopefully the moderator will keep Biden confined to his time. Their strategy will be for him to talk as much as possible and play up his supposed "experience" in foreign affairs with 30+ years in the Senate. Palin needs to be quick to point out her executive experience trumps both his and Obama's, and ask the rhetorical question that if she is not experienced enough to be VP, how come Obama is experienced enough to be VP. If Biden is dumb enough to answer that he is on the ticket to ad experience, she has him. She then reminds everyone that the most experienced person is at the top of the GOP ticket - where they should be!

Palin is good, and she will stay on task. She knows the purpose of the debate is to get the ticket elected, not make her look good per se. If she stays on theme - and points out the liberals hypocrisy every time, she'll score big!

Hobie, you are 110% correct about the country - we have become one of those who believe in our Founding Fathers' vision, and those who would rather pursue Marxism or Marxism-lite.

True - but unlike many other elections a large part of the populace is actually paying attention. Not only for the novelty that the respective tickets represent, but also due to the financial crisis the country is in. As much as the news may say someone won, the populace will see who actually did despite the MSM spin.

That's what has the Dem's scared!

+1 That's it in a nutshell. Even if she doesn't get elected, we've had fun watching the Left squirm and show their true colors. It's a shame that they don't look in the mirror when looking for intolerance.

I'm hoping Gov. Palin does well. She has had a couple of bad interviews though, and I hope this won't become another one. The moderator will be a liberal, of course, as are most TV talking heads. But that may not be a problem if she learns anything from the crash course in foreign affairs she is getting this week.
The rumors about either VP's dropping out is just talk. Although if Biden did, and Clinton stepped in, it might gain the Dem's the womens vote they need and win them the election. I wish Palin well.

About the news saying that McCain and Obama was tied left me with my mouth open. Any person with any brain could seen McCain had Obama on the ropes and made him look like a kid who did not get his way. I was really suprised that Fox News said it was a tie. Made me switch over to the weather channel. Fox was the last news channel i could stand to watch that was fair and balanced, now I have lost trust in them as well. That hit me in the gut. Is their anyone (Media) out there who is going to give credit when McCain or Rep do something right. I hope I don't afend anyone but "I believe anyone who says they are not sure who they are voting for by now has to be a very confused person. When they get folks off the street who say they are still deciding i think they are full of it. Come on it's only been two years since they have been running for the job.

The televised 'interviews' thus far have been chopped and diced to remove her best moments and the interviewslug's worst moments. They won't have the opportunity to do that in a live debate.

My worry is that she will give in to McCommie's compromise, rather than be herself.

I was thinking of how all the talking heads try to spin these things. Not gone to happen but I think Palin needs to come out with a Blond Wig, big fake boobs, act like a total air head, laugh and giggle while Biden talking, then go for the throat. Why not inject some humor into this event. I feel she can handle herself in any situation and give a good show but the opposition is quite sure they can break her poise. Just ranting. I think she will do well, the main problem is the selected moderator has already released a book praising Obama and is a radical leftist. Well know for showing extreme predjudice against any conservative. Anyway rant off. ATB

The main stream media has already determined that Mr. Biden will be the winner!! They will say that Sarah is "not ready, wooden, stilted. Out of her league, etc.etc." I think she'll do just fine and she will score some good points, but with the media (except FOX) already in the bag for BHO she hasn't got a fair chance according to them!!!

After seeing last nights vote on the october surprise and finding out the votes were bought individually with perks and earmarks. Iowa got bioenergy tax breaks-don't know if thats an extension of existing breaks or new ones-AND flood relief funds. Walla-both senaters voted yes. What did everyone else get?? I heard the price of this package was higher than the senate version so this adds up.
This in mind and Palins initial claim to fame was kicking good old boys buts, all she has to do to win this debate is hammer her claim to fame and point out biden's, Obamas, and yes McCain's votes. In addition point out the people responsable-not let biden bluff her with BS and hammer the facts-let the chips fall where they may so if she has to go home she can hold her head high and come back another day with credability.

I dont vote on someone knows who the lt govenor of sir lanka is or whatever. To me, I look at where these people are comeing from, how they are apt to vote on issues etc. The bailout 700+ billion was just voted in despite all the E-mails that ran over 95% instructing the senators not to. I guess, now hope, they know better than us. At this point of the game I am amazed that they think we need to even watch a debate to make up our minds on who to vote for. My mind has been made up for a long, long time. I totaly look at the probable type people the new president will surround himself with, the type he will take advice from, the type he will be appointing judges and cabinet heads etc. So far Obama is 0 and McCain a LOT better.
Sarah Palin will do just fine. No, to the liberals she will be a complete failure no matter what. Biden will appear to the sheep as far more experienced as he is, but experience has nothing to do with his political phylosphy or how he will vote on issues or advise the president. It is ALL to do about a canidates core values and wisdom. When I took exams I put down the answer I knew the tester wanted, not the ones I sometimes dissagreed with.

Palin is the CIC of the Alaskan NG unit that is operational 24-7 she probably has a very high top secret security clearance & is briefed by high level fed officials with such info you don't talk to anyone about.I'd give the same response "I can see Russia from AK" When I was in the USAF I had a secret security clearance,we were instructed to keep info to ourselves but the guys with top secret clearances kept their mouths closed about their jobs, etc.

Governor Palin will do fine. Biden will be called the winner. Very few minds will be changed either way.

It won't happen, but I would like to see Gov. Palin set the tone by complimenting Ms. Ifil on her book and asking for an autographed copy.

There are times when you have to take the initiative away from your opponent. (I don't know anything about Ifil and I'm willing to be corrected, but as an Obama supporter with a financial interest in the election results she should not be there)

THAT would earn her my respect beyond anything else she could do. McCain just tries to be "almost as good a socialist" as Obama, which rubs me the WRONG way.
