He kind of got out of touch with the common man politically when he got wealthy and famous, but he never seemed to get the arrogance so many movie stars get to where they think they should run the world. He also seemed to retain the desire to live a life DOING things rather than just BEING somebody. Gotta respect that.

I just wish more entertainers were unabashedly pro-gun like Ted Nugent - wish HE could have debated Obama last night!

Paul Newman is one of those types that seems like they've lived forever and will never die. I'm surprised he was only 83. Regardless of his politics, he was a great actor and I'll miss that aspect of his life. Cool Hand Luke was a great movie.

and if you watch some of his more recent movies, you can see what a great actor he was.

Paul Newman's death to me is the passing of another acting icon. I remember the first movie I recall him in that he really made an impression on me, Hombre. I've got to find a DVD of that one.

Yea some of his food products were really good too, but I always hated to think of where that money was going to go.

I might not have agreed with him but at least he held true to his beliefs... that I respect.

He was one of the "good" Libs......He never annoyed me and his work was always top notch. All his food product profit went to charity, tho prolly some of them I would not actually suport. But unlike most of HollyWeird, he put his money where his mouth was. I'll miss him.

I didnt agree with all his politics either... but Mr Newman is the last of a generation who...put there money where there mouth is and meant what he said.

We can only imagine that todays crop of actors will grow up one day and show half the class than Newman, James Stewert, etc showed while they were in the public eye.

He will be missed.

I didn't agree with his politics either, but he didn't try to shove his opinions down our throats like some of the present day Hollyweird actors do. He was a very good actor, and a darn good driver too!

It was my understanding he was a pretty steady contributor to anti gun and anti 2nd amendment groups. For that reason he does not and will not get my time or money spent on his movies. God rest his soul.

A cop was killed several years ago in Philly. The man convicted was hands down found guilty and given the death sentence. As this has drug on through the court system he is one of the libs who is in total support of the killer, not the cop. That kind of stuff don't set good. But dang, Hombre, and Cool Hand Luke were great movies.
