I am looking at a ranch near Lake Okeechobee, Fl. They have taken several very large hogs off of there and are reasonably priced. I am looking for a big hog to try out my 1895 in 405win on.

At least you've got 'em comin' in.
Buncha little tiny ones. I see three that might be worth the cost of a bullet.
Keep feedin' 'em. They'll get bigger.

Re: Hogs anyone?
Its only 104 acres in Jacksboro ,Texas its been in my family for 80+yrs , someone in my family has been on it since the late 1800's. As far as hunting I leased it out this year for the first time for deer hunting , and letting the hunters feed my hogs.....and still have the hunting rights on my hogs. So maybe it will be a win win for me. I would be willing to take someone hunting for hogs this spring if they wanted to go. Always like making new friends and meeting other lever guys.mescalero1 wrote:

It is at Bucks Gun Rack, I will pick it Thursday morning. The ammo showed up at the house this afternoon, they look like howitzer shells.RIHMFIRE wrote:Did ya get the 405 already?Duff L Bagg wrote:Packmule wrote:Pork in the freezer as soon as it gets a little cooler.....They are a blast to hunt and really good to eatIt took along time for them to get on my place but they are taking over now. Re: Hogs anyone?
I have to date only shot one hog with a 95, most hogs I have shot have fell to my other Browning favorite my 1927circa Remington model 8 autoloader in 35 Remington , another timeless rifle from Mr.Browning's mind. I carry it more in the woods than any other don't know why just works out that way. I know its not a lever hope ya'll don't kick me out of the club.....

Packmule, you sure do have a right to be proud of that old Remington. From what I have read that is what Frank Hamer carried to due in Bonnie and Clyde, it was a .35
