Winchester/Miroku 1892 45 Long Colt bore diameter for sizer?
I need to order a sizing die for the RCBS Lubesizer and the Star that's backordered. Does anyone own one that can tell me or give me a starting size?
Hoping it would be the same size as Ruger New Vaquero's so I can shoot the same ammo.
TIA,
Duke

Have you slugged the bore yet to determine bore size? If so, what was the diameter?

My rifle is a Miroku 92 in 45LC and it shoots .454 really nice. My New Vaquero also likes .454. This works for MY RIFLE.

I've had the same experiences as Sixgun jr. .454" is a very good diameter for most .45 Colt firearms.
All of my .45 Colt lever guns shoot very good with this diameter bullet, as does my revolvers.

My Rugers like .452" - standard cast bullet diameter and shoot .451" jacketed bullets great too. I would be surprised if the bore wasn't .451"... My Marlin Cowboy 45 Colt shoots the same bullets as my Rugers and has the .451" bore diameter.

I have 4 rifles in .45 Colt and they all prefer .452 to .454 and I have shot and tested both sizes in all my rifles. With real soft bullets and soft loads the larger bullet may outshine the smaller but so far the .452 rules in my guns.
It is best to slug your barrel before buying a bunch or if you cast like me and the .454`s don`t do well, just run them through the .452 die.

Duke,
My guns prefer .454" and groove diameters run .452" / .4525". Better to error on the bullet being a bit larger than too small. Also, the larger bullet helps seal up the chamber a bit better.
Interestingly, original .45 Colt bullets were .456"-.457" in diameter. I have a box of late 1970's WInchester .45 Colt bullets and the box is marked .456" diameter.
Have fun!

Re: Winchester/Miroku 1892 45 Long Colt bore diameter for sizer?
I have shot .452" bullets in my Rossi with no leading. However, that was during the experimentation phase. I decided that for the rifle I'd go with a jacketed bullet and save the cast for the revolvers. This helps me determine the load level by sight (the bullet) rather than guessing.
