Saw my old Winchester. photo added. UPDATE.
I looked in on my local toy shop and saw my old 9422M today, still for sale, so I have decided to swop it for my Browning ATD.
The semi auto is a fine gun and plenty accurate but I'm just not a semi auto type of guy.
Anyway I have my Savage 24 and my other 9422, so the Browning don't get a lot of use.
I just have to get my Levergun back! All I have to do is fill in a few forms for the police and wait for them to say OK. I wish it was as easy over here as it is for you guys!

Cool!
I got my first 22M it's a CZ though and didn't realize what I was missing. What a fun cartridge!
I always liked the little Brownings but they just never felt right to me.

I wish it was that easy too. But then you'd be citizens not subjects, can't have that can we?All I have to do is fill in a few forms for the police and wait for them to say OK. I wish it was as easy over here as it is for you guys!
Sorry about the sarcasm. In many ways we are catching up with you. We have to ask the federal govt permission to buy guns here if we go through a dealer.

Good on you!

I feel so blessed that I don't have to sell one to have permission to get another.

I think that was a wise choice Gamekeeper. I've done that several times....went to trade a gun and went back a short time thereafter to reaquire it. Some guns are hard to give up on!

What's that Land Rover...early '60s, probably? What Series would that be? Very cool vehicles, those.

Its a 1958 Series 2 SWB Station Wagon complete with gun rack. It belongs to the owner of the shooting estate where I live, sadly he just left it to rot.RSY wrote:What's that Land Rover...early '60s, probably? What Series would that be? Very cool vehicles, those.

My last Land Rover was a 1956 Series 1 SWB soft top. I wish I could buy that back too!

I bet he doesn't treat his guns like he did that Land Rover. I hate seeing that.

Re: Saw my old Winchester. photo added.
I spoke to the dealer today and he's keen to do a deal, so it looks like my first and only semi-auto is history. Technically I don't have to give up one rifle to acquire another its just cheaper (no fees to the police) and easier, if I get too many (whatever that means) I have to increase my security and that can get expensive.
Junior just told me there was a rabbit out back, I grabbed the Savage 24 and a CB long and another bunny bites the dust! I'll use a levergun next time, I promise!

Re: Saw my old Winchester. photo added. UPDATE.
I recieved my firearm certificate back from the Police this morning and went straight to the Toy Shop and got my 9422M back, Chris, the dealer said he had a mind to keep it for him self but in the end was happy to swop it for my Browning ATD. He even gave me a bag of cooking apples from the tree behind his store!
I also bought some 3" 410 shells for my Savage 24 and a 410 cleaning kit for Shirley's Webley O/U.

Good to hear you got your rifle back. Repeat, "I'll never let you go.", 100 times with your rosary in hand.
