"Attention Winchester collectors!! Here is the chance of a lifetime! you can be the proud owner of a rare pair of Winchester model 1895 lever action rifles with consecutive serial numbers! I purchased these rifles from a pawnshop in Huntsville, Alabama in 1968, about a month before the 1968 gun control act went into effect. These are serial #42XX14 and serial #42XX15. According to Madis" Winchester book they were manufactured in 1931. They are chambered in 35 Winchester center fire (35 W.C.F.). Number 14 has a receiver sight (Lyman #56 acording to picture on page 502 of Madis' Winchester book), a filler block held with a single set screw and marked on top with a "5" in the rear dovetail, and a Lyman (marked) front sight #3 with a gold bead on a ramp. Number 15 has a Winchester Sporting Rear Sight No. 22H with a 1B elevator. Both rifles retain about 80%+ original blue on the barrels and about 20% blue turning brown on the receivers, levers, and crescent buttplates. Bores in each show strong rifling but probably could use a good scrubbing as they have been setting in my safe for over 20 years. The wood is good on both rifles, no cracks, chips, or missing wood, just minor dings from use and storage. Pictures 1-12 are of serial #14 and 13-24 are of serial #15. (Some of the pictures are a litt fuzzy, if you want more pictures email me.) I am offering these as a pair only, I will not split them. No reserve, if I get a bid these rifles will sell. You are bidding on the pair, you get them both for one money. Ask questions before bidding. I accept ONLY U.S. money orders or cashiers checks. I ship ONLY to the United States! DUE TO RECENT CHANGES IN THE GUN LAWS IN CALIFORNIA I WILL NOT SHIP THESE TO CALIFORNIA!! If you do not have a US address, PLEASE DO NOT BID!! Shipping will be Priority Mail confirmed delivery and insured. Shipping is flat rate $30.00, insurance will be extra based on final bid value and will be required. I will need a copy of a current FFL to ship to. If your FFL will not accept shipment fron an unliscensed individual, my local FFL will handle the transfer for an additional $10.00 per rifle. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!"

$6,500 starting bid, and he does not show the serial numbers.

I won't bother to look at these guns due to the fact that the seller is a mindless dolt. Any fool who is stupid enough to scream that he will not sell to California isn't worth patronizing.

I think they are pretty neat. How many guys can say they have consecutive numbered 1895's? They certainly look "right" to me and while priced high, they are not outragously high. Looks to be about a thousand bucks for the numbers-----------Sixgun

I second this about this moron. If he is not an FFL dealer the new CA shipping law does not apply to him - and if he is an FFL dealer it only takes a few minutes on the computer to set up an account to ship to CA and thereafter less than a minute to get a shipping confirmation number which costs nothing.Mike D. wrote:I won't bother to look at these guns due to the fact that the seller is a mindless dolt.
