You might want to do a little exploring, Dan - right here on the leverguns.com home page - which has a multitude of articles in the "Articles" section, and help for all sorts of questions like yours in the various resource sections.
In your case, why not take a look at the "Winchester Resources" section ?

I have read those articles several times and I still can't convince myself to tear into my 94's. I am a maintenance man by trade, and have always dome all my own work on my motorcycles. After nearly 400,000 miles on several different bikes and them never going to a shop it is abvious I can do mech work. I am still hesitating.

Not a rocket or a Swiss watch. These things are Simple. Get an exploded drawing, study it and have at it. At the worst you'll have to call Winchester for a part or two, at the best you'll get an improvement and be happier.Birdman wrote:I have read those articles several times and I still can't convince myself to tear into my 94's. If you've done all that, the 94's trigger would be a snap.
I had a 44 trapper a couple years ago, traded it for an 1895GS, but before I did, I converted it from rebounding to half cock hammer. The trigger assembly seemed fairly simple to me, and I am NOT a gun smith.

Birdman, I finally got up the nerve to have mine apart just a couple weeks ago and the article by Mojave Gambler works very well. I printed the article and printed the pictures separately, took them to my bench and it all came together. It all works.
Tycer of this board gave me an excellent place to look at win 94 disassembly/assembly instructions. http://www.castbullet.com/misc/tdown.htm
