Probably not.... Paul has been trying to work on that end of things but has not had much success. Since it's on another server that we have no control over it will most likely all disappear into random electrons ...

Hopefully we can have a few days to do searches and save stuff to our own hard drives.

Some great load data out there.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Can the original forum messages be backed up to CD, tape, or external disk ($100 or less) and then loaded programmtically into the history of this new forum site?

There is just too much great information to allow it to be lost forever! Please give us at least a two weeks "head's up" to try to search and save!!!

Ysabel, we've no control over when the plug gets pulled. I'm working on it as I can around my schedule of regular work. I'm hoping to find a way to backup the database and then perhaps we can restore it to another format - but it's an odd format that was used and we've no access to the software that runs it. Only time will tell. In the meantime, get busy saving what's most important to you. If you can get it into word or other type of format then we can put it into HTML in webpage set up just for that. All help is appreciated in backing up that which is of importance to the community.

If someone put it all onto a DVD, some of us nutballs would probably buy one...

P.S. I hope the new server/software handles searches better - might be less duplicate topics and so on that way.

And if the DVD thing was doable, the $$ might help keep it all going...?

Maybe it's better to put all my OT post about Mom, Dad, and Lucille all behind me anyways and let them all disappear...

Your earlier posts of Lucille were how I met you, Ganjiro. After reading just of few of the posts about her and your family, I figured you were a good fellow. And seeing the responses of the other members here about her, made me feel that this was a good forum to participate in.

Before that, I'd just come in once in a while to find specific information about reloading and such.

Now, it is a positive aspect of my life.

If/When you get to Oregon, I'd like to treat you to dinner, company, show you around, go shooting....

I think there is some hope now. We are still working on it.
