Political - Obama picks Biden

Post by Ysabel Kid »

One far-left liberal anti-gunner picks another far left liberal anti-gunner - what a surprise!

Actually, with any decent luck, Obama just made a major blunder that will cost him the White House. Biden is a northeast liberal. Yes, Obama needed a white male with experience to balance out the ticket. But he also needed someone considerably more centrist than he pretends to be. If he would have picked NM governor Bill Richardson, I think it would have been all over. Same with VA governor Tim Kaine. Executive experience, but from conservative areas of the country. With any luck the Obama/Biden ticket will experience the same fate every northeastern liberal since JFK has experienced - failure!

On the other hand, the GOP never misses an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If McCain picks a young minority with solid conservative credentials, he's likely to pull this off. Personally, I like LA governor Bobby Jindal, but there are a ton of well-qualified candidates. This would let the air out of Obama's "uniqueness" pretty darn quick - especially if the GOP VP candidate has executive experience (or any experience - since Obama has none).

So, what is McCain likely to do? Pick another old white guy (this coming from a somewhat old white guy).

Let's see if we can actually pull off a smart move for once. McCain has a golden opportunity to do so - as long as he tables his ego.

We're doomed...

I am hoping as well that he made a big mistake in Senator Biden. Kinda funny, I just dont see what extra voters Senator Biden will bring in.

It was a very bad pick for Obama, which is good for us. I'm hoping McCain picks a pro-gun, pro-life conservative from a battleground state.

If McCain misses a chance to make a splash here he needs to fire his staff. The Gov of Alaska may be just what the Republicans need to win .

Biden was a "safe" choice... experience and all (I dont like his gun posture)... Many see this choice as Obama wimping right into the "middle" and making a "change" right into the status quo.

Any way this is cut... I am taking a nose clip to the polls this year.

Remember - to US, Biden is an ultra-left nut-job, but I know lots of people who are always going to vote Democrat, because they are disgusted with the Republican's tendency to usurp moral authority from the churches, and their general hypocrisy on taxes/big government. (I have to agree with them on both issues, but I either hold my nose and vote Republican, or stand on principle and vote Libertarian.) Anyway, among those friends, who of course are big Obama fans, because "He's got alot of good ideas!" it is pretty much universal that THEY feel Biden is a "good, solid choice," who is "a reasonable 'MODERATE,' politically."

Yep - Biden is a "moderate" - that's exactly what I hear from my Democrat friends.

Sadly, I think some people are so possessed with hatred for all-things-Republican that they'd vote for Satan himself if he was on the Democrat ticket. (They evidently didn't read the memo that says it is only Republicans who are filled with hatred, and the only kind of hatred is 'right-wing hatred.')

People are brainwashed 24/7 to hate Republicans. They repeat rediculous "facts" that they heard on the news as indeed factual without ever checking the veracity. Fools.

Same thing for supposed facts about President Bush.

I get very tired of it.

As for Biden, I'm personally pleased as I think McCain's team can really use his previous statements about obamination to good effect. That, and I'm counting on him to make some great gaffs in the future.

I just hope McCain siezes the opportunity to choose wisely. I wish to God that Condi Rice would accept the VP spot with him - that would bring it home. Same thing for Powell or Jindal.

Finally, I think we are going to see continued unrest in the world in the coming months and that bodes well for McCain.

While you are correct that there is TONS of misinformation out there about Republicans, I am even more tired that the Republicans give people precious little to counter the misinformation. :x

If McCain's camp is boneheaded as they might be, he'll pick Lieberman - and Obama will be a shoo-in.

I'm betting he actually wanted Billary but they turned him down betting he won't get elected and she can run in 4 against McCain. Probably a good thing, too. Obama and Hilderbeast might have been hard to beat.

McCains best choice would be Rice but I don't think she will run. I'm with Dick Morris on this one. He said the best VP choice would be Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas. I bet she would suck all the Hilary votes right out from under Obama.

Apparently there are a lot of p-o'd women-folk at the ol' DNC shin-dig in Denver right now. I refuse to watch the spectacle - not enough things to throw up into in my house. Besides, I need to work this week and don't want to be ill for a month.

McCain has a golden opportunity to pick up a lot of these disaffected Hildabeast worshipers. Let's hope he doesn't blow it!

Biden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a has been. Remember he lost big in IOWA, so big in fact that he quit his campaign right there and then. Obama said that they would restore the middle class. Neither know how to live on the monies the middle class make. Biden is a Kennedy groupie! A vote for him is like a vote for Kennedy!!! And, boys, hang on to your guns. If this pair get elected, there is going to be some serious restrictions placed on the American hunter, shooter, self defense, etc. Art
