Headin' out for bear
My brother and I are leaving tomorrow night for Maine to hunt black bears with 86er's outfit. Will be shooting my 45/70 Guide Gun, stoked with 350 gr. Swift A-frames. Brother will be using my 405 Win. with factory Hornady loads. Hopefully will have some good pictures to share upon my return next week.

Re: Headin' out for bear
Good luck! Looks like you should be pretty well armed!
I buy a bear tag every year but just don't shoot them anymore. Last one I went ahead and shot was about 10 years ago and used 9gr Unique with a 250gr cast out of a .44 pistol at about 75 yards. It only weighed about 230lbs at the butchers, but was a tough pack out.
We want pictures!

The trail cameras show bears on just about every bait. At last report everyone arrived safely today. Good Luck!
